Celebrations of St. George’s Day
On Saturday, April 23, the city of Derby will celebrate St. George. Saint of Jolly Olde England. A feast of family fun on St. George’s Day will be provided in collaboration with Lost Boys. FOLK3D, and the St. Peter’s Quarter Business Improvement District (BID). Featuring dance performances, a parade, craft booths, and story-telling sessions.
Derby Public Libraries
As a way to promote children’s mental health and well-being during the Easter holidays. Derby Libraries has partnered with Derbyshire Wildlife Trust and Derby Parks. Encourage children and their families, to learn about the natural world while spending time in and around our city parks. Visiting Alvaston, Mickleover, Normanton, or Riverside Library for inspirational children’s book exhibits. A great idea for families to do. All have been hand-picked by our librarians to celebrate and explore the natural world-from Benjamin Zephaniah’s. Derbyshire Wildlife Trust provides wildlife spotting sheets for families to use in the city parks. Addition to nature-themed coloring pages for kids to take home.
Consider taking advantage of an Easter Family Track Cycling session at Derby Arena to experiment with something new. These classes are open to anyone who is at least 9 years old, and they’re a great way to try out this exciting new sport!
If track cycling isn’t your thing, you could always try your hand at table tennis or badminton. A wonderful alternative to activities like this is to use Family Leisure Card, which allows up to two adults and a maximum of five people to participate in one transaction. Families may get a discount of up to 20% on their purchases using the card.
A Cycle Derby is a great way to keep the kids moving during the Easter break. There are a variety of alternatives available, ranging from Learn to Ride courses to getting the kids on their first two wheels. Holiday clubs for kids ages four to eight, and six to twelve that help them improve their bike talent. Women will be able to take part in a Ladies Track Taster session at Derby Arena over the Easter break.
